SurgeXperiences – Tools of the trade

I’ll have the honor of hosting SurgeXperiences again on May 11th. SurgeXperiences is a biweekly blog carnival that rounds up the best of the surgical department of the medical blogosphere.
Hosting after the outstanding job Sid Schwab did, will surely be, as we say in Norway, like jumping after Wirkola, but a little challenge is always nice.
Unlike last time, I thought I’d go for a themed edition this time around. And the theme will be: Tools of the trade. Nuff said. The rest is up to you.

The Sterile Eye 
The guy on the picture is very serious…and he looks professional, but what is the function of the stethoscope around his neck? My guess is that he is planning to listen to the heart after he opens the chest.
Ha ha! That’s a good observation. Slipped past me, alright.
I guess the photo agency guys said: “Scalpel, gloves, mask. Not convincing. He could be any profession. But a stethoscope hanging on his sterile gown, that should do it!”
hhaha. the stethoscope might have just decontaminated the sterile field! ;) looking forward to your edition. good luck.
Yeah, definitely an OR gaffe. Clean knife, clean gloves, mask out of place, stet out of place. Tsk. hehe.
